Inside the Story

Daniel was taken far from home to serve in the king's court in Babylon, but he never stopped praying to God, three times a day, by an open window, just as he always had. He served faithfully and became one of the king's most trusted advisors.

Some jealous officials wanted to get rid of Daniel, so they tricked the king into signing a law that no one could pray to anyone but the king for thirty days. Daniel heard about the new law, but he kept praying to God just as he always had, even though he knew what it could cost him.

Daniel was thrown into a den of hungry lions as punishment, but God sent an angel to shut the lions' mouths, and Daniel came out completely unharmed the next morning. The king was amazed, and he praised the God who had rescued Daniel.
