Jonah and the Big Fish Coloring Pages for Kids

Jonah and the Big Fish is more than the moment Jonah is swallowed whole. This coloring book follows the whole journey — from the moment God calls Jonah, through the storm at sea and the three days inside the big fish, to the walk into Nineveh and the change that follows. Each page follows one part of the story, so children can move through Jonah's ups and downs at their own pace.

Inside the Story

God told Jonah to go warn the people of Nineveh that their wickedness would not go unnoticed, but Jonah didn't want to go — Nineveh was Israel's enemy, and Jonah ran the other way instead, boarding a ship headed as far from Nineveh as he could get.

A massive storm hit the ship, and the sailors realized Jonah was the reason for their trouble. Jonah told them to throw him into the sea, and as soon as they did, the storm stopped — but Jonah was swallowed by a huge fish, where he spent three days praying and asking God for another chance.

The fish spit Jonah out onto dry land, and this time Jonah obeyed, going to Nineveh and warning the people just as God had asked. The whole city turned back to God — though Jonah still had to learn that God's mercy is for everyone, even people we don't think deserve it.
