Inside the Story
Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey while crowds waved palm branches and celebrated, but the joy of that day would soon turn to sorrow. Jesus shared a final meal with His disciples and prayed in the garden of Gethsemane, preparing for what was about to happen.
Jesus was arrested, put on trial, and crucified on a cross — a heartbreaking moment for everyone who loved Him. His body was placed in a tomb, and a large stone was rolled across the entrance, leaving His followers grieving and afraid.
On the third day, some women went to the tomb and found it empty — Jesus had risen from the dead, just as He said He would. He appeared to His disciples again, filling them with joy and the promise that death was not the end.
